I’ve (unofficially) released two new tools for Monkey Island 2 Special Edition.
They are:
- Monkey Island Explorer (for browsing the .pak datafile and extracting files and images)
- Monkey Island 2 SE Music Extractor (for ripping the music)
Get the software and read up on what’s buried in the datafiles in this forum thread.
[Edit] Use the latest version of Monkey Island Explorer instead.
I don’t get why the music extractor HAS to convert the MS-ADPCM to standard WAV. why not just demux them as they are? must, if not all computers have a MS-ADPCM codec already installed with their windows or other OS, so they can play it normally on winamp or convert it to normal wav or mp3 by themselves if they choose to do so.
Because its supposed to be a simple one step program for everyone. Converting to standard wav makes it easy for people to then convert to mp3 or ogg with the tool of their choice.
Also, winamp doesnt play back the MS-ADPCM wav’s for me.
