Resource File Creator And Dumper By Bgbennyboy Version 1.1 http://quickandeasysoftware.net -------------------------------- New in 1.1: ------------- Fixed problem when compiling .M4B files where 1st file in the bundle would be corrupt Added drag and drop support! Just drag files out of the dump window to dump them or drag a resource file into the dump window to open it. Drag a folder into the compile window to add its contents to the compile list Added the ability to dump EMI files into subfolders eg. props\anklet\anklet_stand.animb is dumped into a props\anklet folder as anklet_stand.animb Added check for existing/duplicate files, the program now asks if you want to overwrite existing files Added ability to cancel dumps/compiles Made the loading of resource files much faster What is Resource File Creator And Dumper?: ------------------------------------------ Its a program that dumps the contents of .LAB files (Grim Fandango), .M4B files (EMI) and .BUN files (Full Throttle/The Dig). It can also create .LAB, .M4B and .BUN resource files. How to use it: -------------- To Dump a single file: ---------------------- Click 'Open File' and select the resource file that you want. Or drag and drop a resource file into the left hand window. The listview on the left will be filled with the contents of that file. Select the file that you want to dump in the list and click 'Dump'. Choose where you want to save the file. To Dump all files: ------------------ Click 'Open File' and select the resource file that you want. Or drag and drop a resource file into the left hand window. The listview on the left will be filled with the contents of that file. Click 'Dump All'. Select the folder that you want to put the files in. Save Filelist: -------------- Files arent always in alphabetical order in a resource file so if you want to recreate a resource file exactly you can use a filelist to ensure that the order of the files is the same as in the original. Once a file is open click 'Save Filelist'. Load Filelist: -------------- Click 'Load Filelist' and select the filelist that you want to use. Select the folder containing the files that you want to put into the resource file and that are referenced in the filelist. The files will now be rearranged into the order specified by the filelist. To Create a resource file: -------------------------- Click 'Select Folder' and select the folder containing the files that you want to put into the resource file. Or drag and drop a folder into the right hand window. Click 'Compile' and select the type of resource file that you want to create from the box that appears. Choose where you want to save the resource file. If you want to remove a file from the list, select it and press delete on the keyboard. Bugs/Limitations: ----------------- If you dump .m4b's with the subfolders option, you cant use filelists. Currently compiling from subfolders isnt yet supported. Any files inside a subfolder will be ignored by the compiler. You cannot compile a file that is a VirtualPc harddrive file (*.vhd). I'm not sure why this is right now. Coming Soon (Hopefully): ------------------------ Compiling from subfolders Support for V5-V8 SCUMM resource files More sophisticated handling, eg easily insert/delete a file from a resource file, drag and drop files between resource files/between the dump/compile windows Many thanks to: --------------- Benjamin Haisch (John_Doe) for his excellent .LAB and .M4B specs Jimmi Thøgersen (Serge`) - for his continued help and assistance with coding problems Support: -------- Contact me at http://quickandeasysoftware.net/contact Talk to me on irc in #monkey-island on Gamesurge Ask in the MixnMojo help forum http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=124 bgbennyboy 11/07/04
