Curse of Monkey Island Launcher Coin By bgbennyboy Version 1.0 ------------------------------------ Coin image by Bill Tiller What is CMI Launcher Coin? -------------------------- A replacement launcher exe for The Curse of Monkey Island using Bill Tiller's CMI verb coin image as a skin. Designed for Windows2000 and WindowsXP but will also run on Windows98 and WindowsME It has 2 features not in the original Lucasarts launcher: Ability to run CMI in windowed mode Ability to change the level of directsound acceleration (to fix the Cutscene/SMUSH bug that can occur on W2k/WXP) The program can be run from anywhere since it reads the registry values in order to find the location of CMI. How to use it: -------------- To change the directsound acceleration level click the hand. To check the current directsound acceleration level hold the mouse over the hand until the tooltip comes up, it states the current acceleration level. To start in fullscreen mode click the top of the skull To start in windowed mode click the bottom of the skull Bugs/Limitations: ----------------- On some systems it may not be possible to read the acceleration level, if this happens try running DirectXDiag (Start>Run>Dxdiag>Sound tab) changing the acceleration level there and then running the launcher again. This should create the necessary registry keys to ensure the launcher can change the acceleration level. Windowed mode may be slow/jerky on some systems and certain parts of the game may be difficult to do in windowed mode (eg the cannon firing part) Windowed mode does not work correctly on WindowsXP, this is due to a bug in CMI.
