ScummVM Quick and Easy By Bgbennyboy Version 1.4.0 http://quickandeasysoftware.net ------------------------- New in 1.4.0: ------------- Many many changes - the watchword of this release is customization. You can now change and customize almost any aspect of Q+E. I've added an options dialog, in which many settings can be changed and there's now a game settings editor, where the individual settings for each game can be tweaked. Game filters now allow you to narrow down the games shown to those in a particular category and there's even a tool to schedule the automatic downloading of ScummVM Daily Builds. For the full list of changes see below: Game targets updated Updated support for compressing .SOU files (monster.sou), ogg vorbis, flac and mp3 compression all now supported Updated - Daily Build downloading - the latest compatibility glyphs are now automatically downloaded at the same time Added - game filters - games can be filtered by type so that only certain types of games are shown Added - options menu Added - ability to set the default options for various settings. If there are no previous settings available for a game these options will be used instead Added - option to change the interface font Added - option to use balloon hints Added - option to disable hints Added - 'minimize on run' option Added - option to hide the ScummVM Console Window Added - ability to download the last stable build of ScummVM (useful if the daily build has problems). This will always get the latest stable version Added - system tray icon and menu Added - option to disable system tray icon Added - Russian Language to Simon the Sorcerer 2 Added - 'Automatic' - to the sound mode menu. This lets ScummVM choose the sound mode Fixed - daily build downloading - the installer for the daily build changed so it wasnt extracted silently Fixed - the ScummVM command line options changed - this prevented the old version of Q+E from working correctly Fixed - glyph update - the changes to the ScummVM compatibility page broke it in the old version Fixed - initial position on a multi-monitor desktop. Previously it split itself between the 2 screens when it loaded Fixed - dropdown width on bootparam combobox - it will now automatically resize and shrink Fixed - icons and glyphs - removed the 'banding' around some glyphs Changed - minor cosmetic interface tweaks and changes Changed - default font - it's now Tahoma, which looks much better on xp with font smoothing What is ScummVM Quick And Easy?: -------------------------------- A ScummVM frontend for Windows operating systems. Tested on W98, W2K and XP You will of course need ScummVM to use this. Load the program and click 'Update' - this will download the latest ScummVM daily build and install it in the current folder. How to use it: -------------- The program should be fairly self-explanatory. 1 Choose a game 2 Select the folder where the games resource files are (eg monkey1.000 and monkey2.001) 3 Set any additional options you want 4 Click run Some settings wont work for certain games because they were not designed to use that particular function. Update - Downloads and installs either the newest ScummVM daily build or the newest stable build to the current folder Clear All - Clears all selected settings for a game Create Shortcut - Creates a ScummVM desktop shortcut to a game with the selected settings Run - Runs the game (If a game and path are selected, if no other options are selected defaults will be used) Close On Run - If checked ScummVM Q+E loads ScummVM and closes when run is clicked. If unchecked Q+E remains open Save Settings - If selected, when run is clicked it will save the selected game's options to scummvm.ini and reload those options next time the game is selected.
